The Wyndham Resort in Oceanside, California.
At Staycations California we plan on visiting all areas of this state and to participate in a lot of the activities California presents to us. However, this past weekend we took a true staycation and stayed at the Wyndham in Oceanside.

All our photos and videos are of the view from our room on the 6th floor or from the sky lounge on the 7th floor. We couldn’t get enough of the view. The double size sky lounge on the 7th floor is for any guest to use and offers spectacular views of the coast. Inside the room sits a table with chairs, a couch, and a flat screen to watch TV or movies. The real star is the outdoor patio where you get a grand view of the pacific for as far as you can see. There are two towers at the Wyndham so your view depends on what tower you are in. Either tower you will get a bird’s eye view of the pier and the harbor in the distance. On this night we could see as far as Catalina Island.
The pool is on the second floor with plenty of lounge chairs arranged poolside and some can be faced toward the beach so you can sun bath while looking out at the ocean. A glass wall blocks the wind so it is very comfortable. There is a gym, play room, Jacuzzi, as well as events for adults and kids alike. On Friday night they played a movie by the pool and Saturday afternoon we took advantage of the ice cream social in the activities room. We were enjoying the day while filling up on banana splits.
My review of the resort is based on the fact that both times I have stayed there, both rooms had patios with spectacular views. The first occasion it was a two-room suite that we were told are only situated in certain parts of the resort. At the time I ordered the two room suite, the price was not offensive by any means. I really don’t know what the rates are now. This time, our friends received a room for sitting through a sales pitch for time shares. They upgraded to a sizable one room suite and it had a great view as well. Our friends loved the place so much they did actually buy into the Wyndham Resort. We now have new best friends. Actually they have about 25 new besties.
We wish there was a restaurant or bar in the Wyndham but there are many that are walking distance or nearby.
The staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean with nice decor.
The Wyndham may be pricey to some but it is a perfect resort for couples as well as families. So save some pennies. If you can find a groupon or some kind of deal, we highly recommend a stay here. Or if you can, find some new besties that are staying there and crash their party. We did and enjoyed every minute of it.
